I can has b0rken the Internets

My apologies for those people who experienced an initial corrupt zip file for the Windows download (it looks like Microsoft's robust ftp client dropped the last 300 or so bytes from the archive). I've refreshed the download and verified that the new archive extracts correctly and runs.

I wish I was smart enough to have thought of that in advance... (you can schedule blog posts in Blogger). But in my case, it's just dumb luck.

You can mail me the file, and I'll set it up for you, but no earlier than in 6 hours (I'm at work).

What is up with the last two releases? All of a sudden, I couldn't enter shops, rendering the game all but unplayable. With the last release, I can enter a few shops, but not all of them. I think it has to do with the monlist thing I now see in the upper left hand corner. Why in the world does that thing default to on? And how do I turn it off? I can't find anything in the options. Why aren't there browse descriptions for spells like Mark of the Glowing Hand? What do they do, what items do they take? Why can't I turn back into a human if I cast a shapeshifting spell as a sorcerer?

Napsterbater - Hit space bar to hide the monster list, then you'll be able to enter the shops. Re: Mark of the Glowing hand - I haven't written descriptions for these yet. They'll take any item and turn it into a trap with the same effect as the original item. The End Shapechange spell should allow you to change back to human form.

theotherhiveking: I'm relying on the generosity of strangers to compile a Linux version. make -f makefile.std should allow you to copile a Linux version yourself.

Where do i find the end shapechange spell? it sure isn't in any spellbook I've ever seen in the game itself. I have to look in the spoilers to find it.

Andrew Doull said...

It's a prerequisite for most shape changes. Also try activating yourself for the same effect. I've updated the windows build to default monlist off btw

One more question. How do I attack townspeople that I normally push out of the way? These f***in street urchins keep stealing my gold and I want to slaughter them before they can do that.
