Hm, short is a synonym for Dwarf and keep is a synonym for Fortress.
The copyright notice on the Dwarf Fortress says it's been developed from 2002 to 2009 - a difference of 7 years?
I like Alex's guess, although the question mark gets me.
It's clearly something about octal, because everyone knows 2 + 7 is actually 11.
I can't exactly factor in short and keep, though.
I'm with Alex on Dwarf Fort ... given the recent activity on Bay12's site.
As for 7 + 2 ...
I'd say playable DF2010 in 2 weeks (7 by 2 = 14 ... not 9).
